The IAO caught the attention of many observers because of its use of the Masonic eye-in-pyramid symbol in its original logo. That logo featured the eye of Providence from the Great Seal of the United States gazing at the Earth, and the Latin motto scientia est potentia, meaning "knowledge is power". In addition, "Iao" is another name for a gnostic supreme deity and sun-god, the Demiurge which is purportedly referred to in Masonic ritual. The pyramid has 13 steps, the same of that on the the US 1 dollar bill

Note that the thing is to the "back and to the left" of the globe, as well as on the U.S. $1 bill, as a divine irony symbolizing the secretive Jesuit-Masonic ruling elite.
